Registration of Infant Beginners and Choice of School
Glasgow City Council's procedure for the registration of new Primary 1 pupils at all primary schools is now done online.
For parents seeking a place for their child(ren) at St Catherine's, the Primary 1 Enrolment Week begins in November . However any parents/carers of children due to commence Primary school in August 2020, who have not yet registered their child to date, can still do so.
Late online submissions for Primary 1 enrolment are still being accepted.
If you wish to enrol your child(ren) for the start of the new school session in August 2020, they must have attained the age of 5 years between March 1 2019 and February 28 2020.
PLEASE NOTE: In order to enrol your child(ren), you are first required to complete online forms from the Glasgow City Council website
If you are unfamiliar with the internet and the World Wide Web (WWW), this helpful Microsoft® PowerPoint® Presentation entitled St Catherine's Primary Transition Information provides a step-by-step guide to creating an account and completing your child(ren)'s enrolement.
Please complete your online enrolement and submit as soon as possible. Once you have submitted the completed electronic enrolement form, you will receive an automated email to your email address. This email is confirmation that the application has been successfully submitted and will be actioned.
Parents/carers should receive confirmation of their child(ren)'s Primary 1 registration placement no later than mid-February 2019.
In order to complete the online enrolement process, you will need to have the following items to hand:
- A digital copy of your child(ren)'s birth certificate - The requirement to upload a birth certificate only applies to children who did not attend a nursery or pre-school operated by Glasgow City Council.
- The name and address of the family doctor's practice that your child(ren) attend.
- The name of the local school/centre you wish to register the child.
Please note, as the parent/carer you have the right to apply to place your child in a school other than your local school. However, you must complete an enrolment application before you submit a placing request. Once you have submit your enrolment application, you can find information on how to apply for a placing request here.
If you are unfamiliar with schools within your catchment area, please use our School Catchment Lookup tool before completing the form. Please note that it is usual practice for children to attend the Primary School in thir local catchment area.
Parents/carers will have the opportunity to visit their local catchment school. To find out the date(s) and time(s) for such visits as St Catherine's Primary, please contact the school office on 0141 558 8582, or email the school clerical staff.
